Tamworth Castle F.C. were originally formed in the late 1800's to the early 1900's. It is said that the original team went on to become Tamworth Football Club. After a number of reincarnations over the years todays club was reformed for the 1996/97 season and joined the Tamworth and District Sunday Football League. The original teams trainer, Andrew Wright, was the great grandfather of Andrew O'Neil who set up the current club. In 1999/2000 season a reserve team was added. The first team are now in the Premier division for the first time after gaining promotion last season whilst the reserve team are in Division 2 and are the highest reserve team in the TDSFL. |
