Stocksfield Football Club were founded in 2005 by Wayne Stewart and Phillip Murray. Peter Walsh was the first manager of the club and he led the side to a respectable fourth place finish in the Northern Alliance 2nd Division. The disapointment of narrowly missing out on promotion was soon forgotten as Stocksfield beat Whitley Bay 4-2 to lift the 2006 Amateur Cup.
The following season Walsh and his assistant John Wilson parted company with the club and Phil Murray became the player/manager leading the side to promotion to the 1st Division as they finished league runners-up. The 2007/08 season was a season of consolidation as the team finished the season well to finish in fifth place.
John Wilson returned to the club to take charge for the 2008/09 season as the club hope to build on their experience and attempt to gain promotion to the Premier Division. Stocksfield F.C are currently playing their home games at the Stocksfield Sports Ground and play in orange shirts, black shorts and orange socks.
At the end of the 2007/08 season Phil Murray held the title as the clubs all-time scorer with 50 goals and Wayne Stewart had made a record 93 appearances.
